Maplestory Quest Help?

So i'm doing Ariant quests in 2011. I'm trying to finish the quest, "Sand Bandits According to Eleska. I need two Lidiums and to make one Lidium, i need 10 Lidium Ores, so i would need 20 Lidium Ores to make two Lidiums. I have five right now, and i heard from a lot of people that you can get the ores easily by killing Kiyos and Sand Rats. But that was two years ago, so i don't know if the drops changed.. I killed Kiyos for an hour and no Lidium Ores dropped, which is weird.. Then i killed sand rats for approximately 40 minutes, but no lidium ores dropped either. Please someone help me?! I don't want to buy them cause i know they're either too expensive or not a lot of people sell them anymore.
