Hair bleaching question ?

my hair is currently already colored "iced tea" so on my black hair it turned out dark red. i before have given my hair streaks with regular hair dyes , that were blonde , but it turned my hair light brown, so do you think if i leave in the dye longer it'll turn blonde blonde ? or should i re dye it after a weeks time
