Can you help me identify this bank robbing duo?

I am looking for a prolific bank robbing duo. I believe they operated in the 80's and 90's. They were famous for wearing elaborate costumes and went uncaught for quite sometime. I believe they were finally caught because one of the bandits wife (who was in on the robberies) was being snotty to the building expediter that was building her house. She was so rude and abrasive that he turned her in for paying for the entire house in cash. I've been looking for this answer all night and its driving me nuts. Anyone have any idea?
